Achievements and Results
Architectural Rescue & Stabilization: Restructured critical transactional logic in Express and Angular to resolve severe flow failures under pressure, securing high-value transactions without requiring a full system rewrite.
Progressive Migration Strategy: Deployed an intelligent Nginx routing system to progressively migrate pages from legacy Angular to Astro, allowing seamless modern pages to co-exist with legacy assets.
Automated Credit Scoring: Developed integrations with local banks and credit validation tools like Avalburó to automate risk profiles and credit eligibility processes.
Base Price Protection: Engineered a "price freeze" safeguard, ensuring checkout data flows remain completely immutable once a loan application or transaction is initiated.
Linux & Container Deployment: Expanded responsibilities to infrastructure, managing builds and deploying services directly to production servers using Docker and Linux.
Team Mentorship & Tech Lead Prep: Served on the Frontend Strategic Development Committee, defining roadmap requirements and mentoring developers in AI assistant workflows (Cursor, Claude, Copilot).
Through hands-on recovery of legacy bugs, Nginx progressive migration routing, and automated credit integrations, we are continuously stabilizing and modernizing Riku’s software ecosystem to guarantee operational reliability.
Project description
This project focuses on the continuous development, stabilization, and modernization of Riku, a comprehensive automotive marketplace (Web & Mobile) in Ecuador. Developed under the company Jakay, Riku digitalizes the entire vehicle buying and selling process, from publication to credit approval and documentation.
Key architectural modules and modernization initiatives include:
Stabilization of Core Workflows: Rescued and optimized critical transacting workflows built on legacy Angular and Express. This structural stabilization resolved severe transactional bugs in production, saving massive business costs and avoiding high-risk complete rewrites.
Banking & Bureau Integrations: Successfully implemented integrations with Ecuadorian banks and the Avalburó credit bureau, automating the background vetting process for car financing applications.
Nginx-Based Framework Migration: Configured a reverse proxy routing strategy in Nginx. This routing dynamically resolves URLs: serving pages from the modern Astro frontend when available, and routing unfinished or legacy paths to the old Angular setup, making a page-by-page rewrite possible without any service downtime.
Checkout Price Security: Implemented a "frozen base-price" model to prevent downstream database edits from corrupting active credit contracts and purchasing tickets.
Infrastructure Operations: Taken charge of building, compiling, and pushing changes to servers running Docker containers on Linux.
